Layovers & Transit Centers Improvements Project

TriMet is modernizing two of our transit centers with better access, safety upgrades and other improvements for riders and bus operators

Oregon City Transit Center

The Oregon City Transit Center was built more than 30 years ago. The aging transit center will be updated with new curb ramps and sidewalks to create better access for people walking or rolling. We’ll install lighting and security cameras to improve safety. New bus shelters will be added, as well as new landscaping.

We will rebuild the bus layover area to make room for more buses and eventually to accommodate 60–foot buses for future service needs. The project also includes upgrades to the operator break room.

Impacts during construction

During construction, some parking spaces along Main Street and McLoughlin Boulevard will be utilized by crews.

Timeline

Construction begins in January 2026 and is expected to last until or early 2027.

Beaverton Transit Center

The Beaverton Transit Center is one of TriMet’s busiest transit hubs. The transit center will be remodeled to include new, high-capacity bus shelters, better bike storage, new lighting and more security cameras.

The operator breakroom will be expanded. We'll expand capacity for our 40– and 60–foot buses for future service needs. The project will also add two overhead pantograph chargers to support electric buses serving the transit center.

Impacts during construction

There are no changes to how riders will use the transit center at this time. We will provide updates here if there are changes.

Timeline

Construction begins in January 2026 and is expected to last until early 2027.
